Use the complete URL for one eligible public post or video. Getchify checks the source platform automatically.

If a link does not work
- Open it in a private or logged-out browser window. If the platform asks for a login or permission, Getchify cannot process it.
- Copy the complete URL for the individual post or video—not a profile, feed, search page, hashtag, sound, or collection.
- Try again later if the source platform is temporarily limiting requests or does not currently expose a compatible media file.
- Resolve the original link again if a generated download link has expired. Download links expire after 10 minutes.
Video export limits
For a branded video export, the compatible source must be no larger than 512 MiB, no longer than 10 minutes, no more than 3,840 pixels on either side or 8.3 megapixels in total, and no faster than 120 frames per second. Source preparation and video processing each have a 10-minute execution limit.
A completed branded export is an H.264 MP4 with AAC audio when the source includes audio. Enable Remove watermark to keep an available compatible source video unchanged; direct source transfers are still limited to 512 MiB and 10 minutes.
Video items in a multi-item result are prepared in sequence, so later items can take longer. Processing-status links remain valid for up to 7 hours; each final media link expires 10 minutes after it is created.

What is Getchify?
Getchify is a browser-based set of tools for saving available media from eligible public Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok URLs. Choose the matching platform, paste a supported link, and save the resolved file through a temporary download link. The service does not bypass private accounts, login requirements, deleted content, or other access restrictions.

What happens when you submit a link
Public URL validation
The selected tool checks that the URL belongs to its supported platform and points to an eligible public content type.
Compatible source resolution
Getchify requests an available direct media source. If the platform does not expose a compatible file, the tool cannot create one.
Temporary download links
When a file is available, Getchify provides a temporary download link that expires after 10 minutes. Submit the source URL again after it expires.
Controlled processing; no access bypass
Getchify may process video to add its translucent brand mark. It does not artificially upscale media, remove source watermarks, or bypass private-account, login, or permission controls.

Source-dependent output
File format, quality, audio, and video branding
The result depends on the compatible source made available for the public URL. Audio is present only when included in the selected video source. By default, video exports include a translucent Getchify mark in the top-right; enable Remove watermark to omit only that added mark. Getchify does not increase resolution or remove a watermark already present in the source.
Facebook output
The Facebook tool creates an MP4 video export when a compatible combined source is exposed.
Instagram output
The Instagram tool can return video exports, image files, or separate items from a supported carousel.
TikTok output
The TikTok tool creates a video export from an available compatible source for an eligible public link.

Access boundaries, privacy, and permission
Direct answer
Can Getchify save a private video? No. The tools process eligible public URLs only and do not bypass private-account settings, login requirements, group permissions, deleted posts, or other access controls.
No social account credentials
Getchify does not request an Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok username, password, cookie, or access token.
No permanent media library
Video processing uses isolated temporary server work storage. Staged source files are deleted after processing, processed artifacts are deleted after their temporary grants expire, and failed jobs are cleaned up automatically.
Ownership still applies
Public availability does not grant ownership or reuse rights. Download only content you own or have permission to save, and respect applicable law, creator rights, and each platform’s terms.
If a link does not resolve
Check the URL, access, and content type
A public URL can still fail when it is incomplete, points to an unsupported page, has been removed, requires permission, or does not currently expose a compatible direct source.
1. Choose the correct platform
Submit Instagram URLs to the Instagram tool, Facebook URLs to the Facebook tool, and TikTok URLs to the TikTok tool.
2. Copy the complete individual link
Use the Share menu or full browser URL for one supported post or video. Do not submit a profile, feed, search, or collection page.
3. Confirm that the content is public
Open the URL in a private or logged-out browser window. If the platform requires a login or permission, Getchify cannot process it.
4. Create a new temporary link
Generated download links expire after 10 minutes. Submit the original public URL again when a link has expired.

Which sites does Getchify support?
Getchify provides dedicated tools for eligible public Instagram posts, Reels, and carousels; public Facebook videos, Reels, and Watch links; and public TikTok video pages and supported TikTok share links.
Is Getchify free to use?
Yes. All three tools are free to use and do not require a Getchify account or registration.
Do I need to log in or install anything?
No. Getchify does not request Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok credentials. It works in a current browser without a mobile app, desktop program, or browser extension.
Can I download private videos?
No. Getchify processes eligible public URLs only. It does not bypass private-account settings, friends-only or group permissions, login requirements, deleted posts, or other access controls.
What quality and file format will I receive?
The compatible source determines the result. Facebook returns an available direct combined video file; Instagram can return available video or image files; and TikTok returns an available compatible video file. Getchify never artificially upscales media. Branded video exports are re-encoded to apply the Getchify mark.
Does Getchify remove watermarks?
Getchify does not remove or alter a watermark already contained in a source file. By default, video exports include a translucent Getchify mark in the top-right. Enable Remove watermark to omit only the Getchify-added mark.
Where is my downloaded file saved?
The file is saved through your browser. On iPhone or iPad, check Safari Downloads or the Files app. On Android, Windows, and macOS, check the browser’s usual Downloads location.
Does a public post mean I can reuse its content?
No. Public availability does not grant ownership or reuse rights. Download only content you own or have permission to save, and respect applicable law, creator rights, and each platform’s terms.
